Unwrapping…
Finnish, not Swedish — and in Swedish candy bowls for as long as anyone can remember.
Fazer is Finnish, founded in Helsinki in 1891, and there is no point pretending otherwise. It is here because Dumle, Geisha and Tyrkisk Peber have been fixtures of Swedish pick & mix and Christmas bowls for generations. Nationality is a weaker reason to stock something than the fact that people keep asking for it.
Tyrkisk Peber is the one to approach carefully: a hard salmiak shell with a sharp pepper-liquorice centre. Geisha, hazelnut nougat under milk chocolate, is the easy one.
